The Cime de la Bonette, or summit of the Bonette, at 2,860 metres, is a folly. The road was built only to claim the title of the highest road pass in the Alps. That crown belongs to the Col de I’Iseran, which lies 200 kilometres north. That's not to say it isn't worth riding up because it definitely is, if only for the view over the other side.
