The Furka Pass - Hotel Belvédère

The Rhône river rises from the Rhône Glacier, which can be seen on the left of the picture. The Rhône Glacier has shrunk dramatically due to climate change since around 1900, when the glacier reached the valley bottom.
The abandoned Hotel Belvédère, sitting high up on what looks like the world's edge, adds a poignant focus to the overwhelming sense of something lost.
Considering the immense scale and detail of these mountain landscapes, we recommend choosing an A1 print or larger to appreciate the image's impact fully.
