The road from Selva di Cadore constantly crisscrosses the river as it twists its way through countless hairpins up the narrow valley and onto the summer pasture. The gradient is demanding from the bottom to the top. Dotted with signs of the hard life lived in these parts. But on such days, it's glorious, totally gloriously, unmissably heaven-sent. A just get out and ride day.
